The Twelves
The Twelves is an electronic duo, made up of Brazilian musicians João Miguel and Luciano Oliveira. Spin dubbed them one of "9 Unknown Bands to Watch" at SXSW. This upcoming weekend, Whoop Them Funk in conjunction with Rocket Fixed Fest brings them as a part of The Closing Party of FIXED FEST 2011. Make sure you'll be there!!!

For the Stussy Summer 2011 collection, Stussy worked with UK artist Fergus Purcell aka Fergadelic. Known for his work with Silas and Tonite, Fergadelic created a series of t-shirts that mix iconic military photography with his own twisted sense of humor. Stussy caught up with Fergadelic at his London home to talk about how he learned to draw, his work ethic and the origins of his name. More info here!

BATHORY: In Memory Of Quorthon Vinyl-Box
Black Mark is set to release a limited deluxe Bathory vinyl- boxset in honour of Quorthon. The box will include three double gatefold LPs, a 48-page booklet, a “Goat” poster (70x100cm) and a Picture-disc recreation of the original “yellow goat” 1984 pressing of the band’s debut album. The collection, that includes over 4.5 hours of music, is aimed to be release in July in the U.K.

Exploring the roots of Heavy Metal music in the Black Country, the featured artists, including Matius Faldbakken, Ben Venom, Harminder Judge, Seldon Hunt and Amy Sarkisian, use typography, vintage t-shirts, sculpture and sound to explore the varying aesthetic features of Heavy Metal and its relationship to contemporary art. The artists, both national and international, take inspiration from the genre, whilst exploring notions of fantasy, chaos, performance and musical devotion.
‘You Should Be Living’ references the title track from the debut Napalm Death record ‘Scum’ and, thirty years after the formation of the band, a special collaborative piece has been commissioned for this exhibition. French artist and Grindcore fanatic Damien Deroubaix and Napalm Death founder Nicholas Bullen will present their sculptural construction containing text and abstractions, embedded video monitors, audio cables and microphones, referencing the work of both artists and the ‘Scum’ album.
The exhibition is part of the Home of Metal festival of music and arts events devoted to celebrating the Black Country region as the home of Heavy Metal music.
