SOU BRETTE: UNKNOWN WATERS

While watching the 1953 Alexandr Ptushko film "Sadko", Sou Brette's Muqliza Imroni was thoroughly inspired and awed by the golden touch of its incredibly imaginative coloring, splendid characters, and breathtaking portraiture of the underwater kingdom. She wanted to create a collection drawn solely from the imagery of an underwater fairytale.

Unknown Waters was born from this illusive innocence situated beneath the surface of the sea.

Unknown Waters contributes a softer, more organic form to Sou Brette's usual tough, geometric-shaped jewelry. Crystal clear resin filled with faux pearl inlays, ropes dressed in textured marble print cotton in colors representing an underwater realm; have all been carefully chosen to create an honest and personal dream-like collection.

Actual Pain: New Jewelry Capsule Collection

This time Actual Pain bring you two exquisitely hand crafted silver rings inspired by the blood drinking days of old... Can you guess what movie inspired them? The Dracul and Crowley showcase their own carving skills and they couldn't be more pleased with the results. They are sizable and unisex and totally awesome.

Actual Pain also have The Devil's Hand bracelet, which is sure to become the object of much adoration and lust to the hearts of those brave young women who dare to wear it. Although it is a cursed item, it does give you +4 to charisma.

Lastly due to popular demand, they re-upped the silver Shadow Cross necklace. This elegant silver necklace is now available with a matching silver chain and somehow they managed to make it more affordable then before! And as always all of their jewelry is made in Seattle.

Pipetree Leather Goods

Alexandra Lauro, Brooklyn native and creator of Pipertree Leather Goods, interweaves fragments of Earth and stone with lanyard and leather to create stalactite adornments both of nature and in nature. Pursuant to artisan tradition, each piece is purposefully conceived and meticulously composed. Her creations are inspired by everything from the rolling plains to the sandy stretches of the Sahara , the marigold shrines of el Dia de los Muertos to the mysticism of Santeria. Dreamers & Believers

An art collective based in Sydney, Dreamers and Belivers is the brainchild of Dinta Jakile and Stacia Hadiutomo. Two best friend since design school that work together creating variety of projects with ‘FUN’ as its main theme. "In our work, we always try in every way to create what we ‘feel’ for. Sometimes we think, sometimes we don’t. We don’t over think. We are a dreamer and we are a believer. We believe in individuality & creative open mindedness."

Mouton Collet

Matthieu Mouton and Nicolas Collet, the duo behind the jewellery line Mouton Collet developed their confidential line of handmade silver jewels and objects. Their collection is presented like a personal diary, Journal Intime, and through strange poetic forms inspired by the vegetal and animal world.

Sou Brette: The Unpublished Collection

"The Unpublished Collection" was a collection before Fiction Romance. Due to personal reasons, these pieces never made it to production.

Now, Sou Brette have decided to share the love with all of you. These will be for sale at Brightspot Market "A 4 Day Market of All Things Cool" starting tomorrow Thursday April 30th (invitation only) and Friday May 1st until Sunday May 3rd (open for public) at EX groundfloor, Plaza Indonesia.

Arielle de Pinto, a Canadian designer, launched her first line while attending Concordia University's fine arts program. Drawing upon an array of disciplines, she approaches jewelery as visceral expression as exemplified by her installations of crocheted facemasks that explore the beautiful and the grotesque.

Danielle Petrosa's Necklace

Emerging jewelry designer Danielle Petrosa makes these dreamy ceramic necklaces with iconic images from films. known for her conceptual installation work, Danielle recently started extending her art to jewelry. The chains and adornments are a mix of vintage and new. Because of the organic process, each of these pieces are truly one of a kind.

Sou Brette - "Fiction Romance"

Sou Brette's newest range of jewelry is aptly titled "Fiction Romance", named after a song by the legendary British punk band Buzzcocks. The designer, Muqliza Imroni, said that this season is her most personal collection yet. It is inspired by a lot of her favorite things... the whole Buzzcocks's Operator's Manual album, ballerinas, 90's silk patterns, and the colors of seashells. Mainly using solid resin, each necklace is handmade, hand-molded, and hand-crafted in Indonesia.




Sou Brette's "Fiction Romance" collection and lookbook will be out in November 2008.
