Darkthrone is a DJ

Gylve Nagell, a.k.a. Fenriz is the guy behind one of the grimmest band Darkthrone. He is trully a consummate record collector and played as a DJ in a variety of genres and introduced Darkthrone fans to obscurities by Siouxsie & the Banshees and early NYC punks the Testors through covers—the latter’s “Bad Attitude” appears on the new ’Throne EP N.W.O.B.H.M. (the “B” is for “Black”).
“The last few years, I’ve had some people helping me with crust and obscure NWOBHM and ’70s music”, Fenriz says.
Not coincidentally, Darkthrone’s recent discs have been heavily influenced by the crust punk scene, and the forthcoming F.O.A.D. promises classic heavy metal in the vein of a dozen obscure ’70s and ’80s bands.
