In Girum Imus Nocte Et Consumimur Igni

PhotobucketPhotobucket

In the last two decades a bizarre and violent musical subculture called black metal has emerged in Norway. It's roots stem from a heady blend of horror films, extreme heavy metal music, Satanism, pagan mythology, and adolescent angst. In the early-mid 1990's, members of this extremist underground committed murder, burned down medieval wooden churches, and desecrated graveyards. What started as a juvenile frenzy came to symbolize the start of a war against Christianity, a return to the worship of the ancient Norse gods, and the complete rejection of mainstream society.

Noir & Blanc A/W 08: Ink Illusions

Photobucket Photobucket

Noir & Blanc is a Swedish brand situated in Stockholm. The company was built in the spring of 2007. Designed by Petra Thoms and Linnea Carlgren. The inspiration is found in a variety of diverse sources and is often based on using strong silhouettes and distinct colours. The geometrical shapes and glossy fabrics make the clothes feel decadent but yet still wearable. See their entire collection here.

The American Apparel Controversy

Photobucket

The CEO and founder of American Apparel, Dov Charney, has been hit with a few sexual harassment suits, which is stimulated in part by the company’s super-sexual image with ads depicting young twentysomethings in various states of undress, often looking horny and hungover. Charney's ads, have become targets for post-Feminist love and ire. Anyhow, we still and always love AA & Dov! You can read the full article here.

The Kooples

Photobucket

The Kooples, it is the return of street chic, a frame of mind Paris-London, a musical incline, fashion as manifesto, and a cloakroom for two. Savile Row versus rock, Parisian elegance with black spectacles, urbanity brought forward by love affairs vintage. The Kooples dress the girls and the boys from foot to head, until fashion separates them! See the entire collection here.
