The Misshapes are a DJ trio, hired and flown around the world to DJ at various fashion parties and night clubs. They have become fashion darlings in their own right. Characterized by their signature black hair, blank expression and mostly a monochrome wardrobe of up-and-coming New York Designers.
Formed in 2003, the trio cultivated a large following when they brought the dance party ‘MISSHAPES’ to downtown New York City, featuring artist such as: Yoko Ono, Madonna, Franz Ferdinand, Boy George, Kelly Osbourne, My Chemical Romance, M.I.A., Fall Out Boy, James Iha, The Rapture, Interpol, Jessica & Ashley Simpson, and many more. In September 2007 after a successful 4 year run, the trio discontinued Misshapes as weekly party.
Since then, the trio continues to dj and has done several outside projects including a style book, remixes for indie rock and electronic bands, film soundtracks, runway show for various designers as well as been involved in fashion journalism & photography.
In 2006, they toured in the US, Europe, Japan & South America and supported: Art Brut, Celebration, The Killers, Lady Sovereign, Motley Crue, Peaches, Scissor Sisters, Serena Maneesh, The Roger Sisters, She Wants Revenge, Stars, The Stills, Tapes ‘N’ Tapes…
In 2007, they toured the US, Europe & Japan again, and supported: Block Party, CSS, Courtney Love, Crystal Castles, Cindy Lauper, Debby Harry, Dragonette. Erasure, The Gossip, Riot in Belgium, Uffie, Voxtrot…
In September ’07, they released a style book: MISSHAPES (Nicol, 2008), published by MTV Press. The book contains almost 300 pages of fashion portraits and over 2,500 images.
